Remote sensing, in its broadest meaning, i.e. as the field which deals with the acquisition and processing of information of non-contact sensors, is one of the major areas of activity in the IPTC. It includes: device-level, such as special-purpose circuits and antennas, algorithm-level, including signal processing and detection and enhancement, and complete working systems, based on multispectral, infrared, ultrasound and radar technologies.
Applications include systems for Defense, Air Traffic Control, Meteorology and Earth Observation.
