IPTC Showcases Cutting-Edge Innovation at the 2025 Industry Day

The 2025 Industry Day on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, jointly organized by the CSIC, UPM, the Center for Automation and Robotics (CAR), AIR4S, Robots, AI and Us, and the CSIC AIHUB community, will take place on 27 November 2025 at the CAR facilities in Arganda del Rey. The event aims to strengthen public–private collaboration in R&D by bringing together researchers, companies, startups, and public administrations for a full day of demonstrations, networking, and knowledge exchange.

Representing the Information Processing and Telecommunications Center (IPTC) will be its Director, Rubén San Segundo Hernández, who will present key industrial technologies developed at the center.

The event will also feature several demonstrations from IPTC research groups, including advances in pediatric brain tumor segmentation, breast tumor localization for surgery support, and personalized conversational interaction systems for museum visitors. These technological showcases highlight the IPTC’s contributions to applied artificial intelligence, medical imaging, and speech-based human–machine interaction.

Throughout the day, attendees will explore a wide range of innovations developed by research teams from both CSIC and UPM, spanning intelligent robotics for agriculture, autonomous driving, multi-agent mobility systems, space technology transfer, and emotional social robots, among others. The program also includes presentations on collaboration frameworks with CSIC and UPM, incentives for innovation, and initiatives supporting digitalization and entrepreneurship.

With its strong focus on real-world applications and cross-sector cooperation, the 2025 Industry Day will serve as a strategic platform to accelerate technological transfer and foster new partnerships in Europe’s AI and robotics ecosystem. The IPTC’s participation, led by its Director, underscores the center’s commitment to driving industrial innovation through advanced information processing and AI technologies.
