IPTC researchers develop gamified media literacy tools to tackle disinformation

23/07/2025

Researchers at IPTC are working in an innovative project”, Escaping New Disinformation through Gamified Cross-Border Media Literacy Education(ENDGAME), which harnesses the power of games to strengthen citizens’ resilience against disinformation. By creating interactive, game-based learning experiences, the initiative helps participants (especially young people) identify false information online and develop critical thinking skills.

With a strong cross-border focus, the project designs educational tools that are culturally adaptable and foster international collaboration in combating misinformation. Among the key outputs are digital escape rooms and collaborative games tailored to diverse audiences and languages.

These resources have potential applications beyond schools and universities, supporting NGOs, journalists, and public institutions in raising awareness and engaging communities across Europe and beyond. By blending media literacy education with gamification, the project offers an engaging and effective response to the evolving challenges of the digital information landscape.
