IPTC Members Honored at COIT-AEIT Awards

The Information Processing and Telecommunications Center (IPTC) proudly congratulate its members and collaborators who have been recognized at the XLVI COIT-AEIT Telecommunications Engineering Excellence Awards, one of Spain’s most prestigious distinctions in the field of telecommunications engineering.

Organized by the Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (COIT) and the Asociación Española de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (AEIT), these awards acknowledge outstanding academic and research achievements that contribute to technological innovation and scientific progress.

Among the awardees with IPTC connections, Dr. Roberto Guirado Liñán received the HISPASAT Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Satellite Communication Systems for his work on liquid-crystal-based planar devices for emerging millimeter-wave wireless networks. His thesis was endorsed by Prof. Jesús Grajal de la Fuente, IPTC member.

Dr. Elías Antolinos García received the Royal Academy of Engineering Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Human-Centered Engineering, Technology and Health for his work on non-contact vital signs monitoring using millimeter-wave radar technologies. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Jesús Grajal de la Fuente, both members of the IPTC.

In addition, Juan Manuel Ruiz Casado won the HISPASAT Award for the Best Master’s Thesis in New Technologies for Communication Satellites. His work was supervised by José Daniel Martínez de Rioja del Nido, IPTC member.

IPTC warmly congratulates all awardees and supervisors for these remarkable achievements, which highlight the excellence, innovation, and impact of the institute’s research community.
