Celia Fontá Wins First Prize at AMTA 2025 for Outstanding Research

The IPTC researcher Celia Fontá has been awarded First Place in the prestigious AMTA 2025 Student Best Paper Awards, a recognition that highlights her exceptional contribution to innovation in antenna measurement technologies. The award ceremony took place during the 47th Annual Meeting and Symposium of the Antenna Measurements Techniques Association (AMTA), to be hosted by Raytheon | An RTX Business in Tucson, Arizona, November 2–7, 2025.
Celia Fontá, from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, received top honors for her paper “Autonomous Adaptive Sampling For Planar Antenna Measurements With A Robotic-Arm System,” co-authored with Ana Arboleya Arboleya and Manuel Sierra Castañer. Her work showcases a novel approach to improving the efficiency and accuracy of planar antenna measurements through robotic automation, positioning her at the forefront of emerging research in the field.
AMTA’s Student Best Paper Awards reflect the association’s commitment to academic excellence, recognizing the ingenuity of promising young researchers in antenna measurement technologies. Winners receive a $500 cash prize, complimentary registration for AMTA 2026, and one year of AMTA membership, reinforcing the organization’s support for the next generation of innovators.
The Information Processing and Telecommunications Center (IPTC) celebrate Fontá’s achievement as a testament to the institute’s dedication to high-impact research and its ongoing contribution to advancing antenna measurement science. Her recognition at one of the field’s most respected international conferences underscores both her personal excellence and the growing visibility of the IPTC research community on the global stage.
